Band Member Bios

Andrew Jess (Lead Vocals/Acoustic Guitar) was born in the western suburbs of Chicago but moved with his family to Cypress, TX at the age of 7.  He embraced the southern culture and was turned on to a wide variety of music.  At age 17, his family moved back to Illinois and he followed.  Not really sure what the future would hold for him at that time, he often turned to music to help him through tough times.  When Garth Brooks hit the music scene, however, Jess got inspired and purchased his first guitar.  Soon after, he taught himself to play and joined his first band.  A little more than a decade later, Jess has developed into an incredible showman with an undeniable talent for singing country music.

Mike Aquino (Lead Guitar/Vocals) was born and raised in Wheaton, IL.  He received his first guitar for Christmas at the age of 8, and his Mom allowed him to play it as loud and often as he wanted.  Inspired by the classic rock and blues artists of his time, Aquino joined his first band at age 16 and later went on to obtain a degree in music education and jazz guitar performance.  In his early 20s, country music became his obsession.  Soon after, he grabbed some friends (Chris Halla & Matt Marvic) and embarked down the country music path whole-heartedly.

Chris Halla (Keyboards/Acoustic Guitar/Vocals) grew up in Downers Grove, IL.  Music has been an important part of his life since his grandfather taught him how to play clarinet at a very young age.  His grandfather also introduced him to a wide variety of musical styles ranging from big band to blues.  A few years later, Halla fell in love with the piano and learned to play along with his favorite boogie woogie piano players.  After high school, Halla joined forces with his backyard neighbor (Matt Marvic) and Mike Aquino, and they've been performing together ever since.

Matt Marvic (Drums) grew up in Downers Grove, IL., directly behind the house of keyboard player Chris Halla.  Since the age of 16, Marvic has been a drumming staple for bands in and around the Chicago area.  Known for his impeccable time and infectious grooves, Marvic is the engine and backbone of every band he performs with.  His hard work ethic is motivating to others around him, and his versatility and "less-is-more" approach to drumming allows him to master the beats of every genre.  Whether on the stage or in the studio, Marvic's performance is consistent and solid.

Jason Trtan (Bass Guitar/Vocals) was born and raised in the Western Suburbs of Chicago.  For as long as he can remember, he's dreamed of becoming a professional musician.  He attended Berklee College of Music in Boston for four years and worked as an assistant engineer and session player for several major artists.  After college, he moved back to Illinois and eventually settled in Lisle, IL.
